A work colleague just introduced me to a fantastic website called Subtle Patterns.

It does exactly what it says on the tin – provides a library of subtle patterns to create some beautiful textures in your designs – all in a fluid and well thought out interface.

Click Preview on any of the patterns to see the pattern applied as the background image of the website.

 

Definitely one to bookmark for all designers.

The ZeroBundle: Free resources for designers

About a month ago, the ZeroBundle website launched – from the guys behind WebDesignerDepot and MightyDeals.

It promised to offer “an awesome bundle of free design goodies, with icons, textures, PSDs and much more.”

Last night, the ZeroBundle was launched. Simply visit the website, enter your email address and you’ll receive links to 3 zip files containing over 250 Photoshop PSD’s and PNG’s offering a wide range of design resources from a number of great contributing individuals and websites.

The icons come in 5 sizes: 32×32, 48×48, 64×64, 128×128 and 256×256 so they’ll surely come in handy for a wide variety of uses.

Facebook Timeline Cover Image Template

The new Facebook Timeline should be arriving for all facebook users any day now but there’s a developers preview release for those who cant wait – like me.

One of the biggest new features is the Cover Image which allows you to add a large (851 x 315 px) image to the top of your timeline, in addition to your profile image.

Below is a screenshot of what mine currently looks like:

Being a designer, I figured I had to give my cover the Photoshop treatment!

Creating your own custom header is simple.  Just create an image which is exactly 851 x 315 pixels in size and upload!

If you want to have a look at what your profile could look like before you upload it, use Photoshop template I’ve created below
